Technique & Craft :

Royal patronage and legacy propelled the incredible development of the Sanganeri art of printing. It has been around for years, practiced by the craftsmen who migrated to the state of Rajasthan. The craft ultimately found its haven in Sanganer, a village in the southern part of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Delicate patterns and lines with vibrant colored designs are the defining factors for this kind of hand block printing technique. Rich merchants and royal families have propagated this art and its influence has spread far and wide into the fundamental nature of Indian tradition and culture.

Disclaimer :

Natural-dyed colours might bleed during the first few washes or rub against the skin & other light-coloured garments. The print on the garment might be uneven - owing to the handcrafted nature of the product, adding essence to the garment. These irregularities are the hallmark of all handmade products and give each style a unique identity

Material Care Tips :

Sanganeri is by far the easiest print to maintain. However one would not want to wash it too regularly since the color of the natural dyes can fade with time. Hand or machine wash with mild detergents would be ideal for these prints. It is best to air dry these fabrics to avoid ruining the brightness of the colour.
